Wow I can't believe that its already been three months since Haydn was born. I feel like it's going slow but so fast at the same time. My little baby isn't so little anymore!

Haydn's personality is starting to show and its so much fun. He is such a funny kid and we love doing whatever we can to get a smile. Some of the things Haydn loves is sitting or standing in anyway possible. He will not lay on the ground or in his swing or carseat for long before h

e's trying to lift himself up into the sitting position. He loves his bumbo seat and his walker

Haydn also really loves his bath. If he's getting fussy in the evenings but its too soon for bed I just take him into the bathroom and start running the water and its immediate smiles. He will kick and splash for quite a while.

Some of the things Haydn dislikes is when he is really tired and Hermes sing really loud. This is the face that we get when this happens....

Overall Haydn is a great baby and is starting to slowly figure out the whole sleeping thing. We love him and are so glad he is a part of our family. He brings so much joy into this home and I can't imagine what it would be like without him. Now enjoy a few of my favorite pictures of Haydn from the last three months :)

Haydn Hermes Da Silva

Haydn Hermes Da Silva was born on November 1st 2011. He weighed 7 pounds 13 ounces and was 21 inches long. We are so grateful he is here safe and sound and are loving every minute we get to spend with with. He is a very good baby and we are grateful we are still getting a pretty good amount of sleep each night. Hermes has become the best dad ever and will change a diaper without being asked. He gets mad at me if I don't wake him up in the night to change and burp Haydn. I am lucky to have a great husband who has been working hard around the house. Because I had to have a c-section I am not allowed to do a whole lot of housework. Hermes is working about 30 hours a week plus keeping the house clean and the laundry done and spending time with Haydn and I. What a lucky girl I am. Well I'm just blabbing on about nothing and I'm sure everyone just wants to see pictures. So here you go! (I will add the birth story to the bottom for those that are interested and haven't heard it)

Here is the birth story for those of you who want to read it:

Monday October 31st I got up thinking it was going to be a normal day and started doing homework and house chores like normal. I noticed I was having a lot more contractions (Braxton hicks) than ever before but continued on my way. Since it was Halloween Hermes decided that we should join some friends and go to Dr Slaughters house in Idaho Falls. So we went and the whole time we were there I was having contractions every 5-7 minutes. Once we got home my contractions started to get closer and closer till they were only about 2-3 minutes apart. Now these contractions were not intense at all, for some of then I could only tell I was contracting by feeling my stomach. But I knew that once your contractions are that close you are suppose to head to the hospital so after we ate some dinner I decided to call the doctor and see what to do. He told me to head up to labor and delivery and get everything checked out. So Hermes and I quickly packed our bags and headed out the door. Once we got up to the hospital they put a monitor on the baby and my contractions. They could see i was contracting and decided to see if I was dialated. So they checked me only to find out I was not dialated at all. They talked to the doctor and decided they were going to have me walk for a couple hours to try to help things out a bit. So Hermes and I started walking. We had only been walking about 15 minutes when I felt something pop. Sure enough my water broke all over the hospital carpet. So i left a nice little trail and headed back up to the labor and delivery unit. Now they had to check me in and they did. The doctor decider that I needed to be started on petocin which would help induce my labor. I was very excited about this because I was told it makes labor a lot more intense and I was wanting to go natural. Well contractions started to get more and more intense and they eventually had to turn down the petocin because baby wasn't happy. Well after 7 hours of contractions they checked me just to find out I hadn't dialated anymore. So we waited more. Contractions got very intense to the point I was ready to give up. They were coming about every 50 seconds and lasting over a minute. They called the doctor in to check me and see what to do next. Doctor checked to see that there was still very little process over the last few hours. He told me that the safest option for me and baby was to deliver him c-section. So next thing I knew they were prepping me for surgery. I was taking into surgery and got a spinal block to numb me from the chest down. Hermes was prepped too so he could be in the room. At 4:04 our sweet little Haydn was pulled out of my belly and met the world. He weighed 7 pounds 13 ounces and was 21 inches long. He looks so much like his daddy and is perfect in every way. We are so grateful for him to be here safe and sound. I couldn't ask for a better daddy for my new little man. He has been so great taking care of him while I've been a little out of it because of medication.

I can't believe how close its getting to my due date! Only about 6 more weeks (or less)! Can't wait to see and hold this little guy! :)

What's been happening....

It's been a while since I've posted and I feel like I should update everyone with whats going on in our lives. I don't have any fun pictures because I'm not sure what Hermes has done with them all.. :) So you just get a boring picture-less update. Since we returned from our vacation in April we have just been working like crazy. Hermes is working at Wendy's as well as for a business consultant doing online work. He says busy enough with these two job and all the jobs I find for him around the house. He is tired of Wendy's and has been looking pretty hard over the last few weeks for a better job. He's applied to a few and had some interviews so we are praying and hoping that one of them comes through. I am still teaching preschool and babysitting these two little girls 3-4 times a week. On my days off I try to get as much done in preparation for our little one to join us. Haydn will be here in about 2 1/2 months and we are working like crazy to get everything done when our schedules permit. I will post pictures of his room as soon as we get that done. We are loving life and enjoying all the time we can together and can't wait for the newest member of our family to join us.

Florida!

We loved Florida! The sun was warm and we had lots of fun things to do. This hammock was just out by the pool in out hotel in Ft. Lauderdale. On our last night in Florida we got together with a couple that went on the cruise with us and who were also staying in the same hotel as us and we all went to a restaurant that had this really neat show. They had dancers come out and show us different dances from all the different islands. We loved the show but weren't fans of our foods. :)

Cruise to the Bahamas!

Waiting to be able to get on the cruise ship. You can see the tip of the boat through the window behind us. We loved our cruise and are already planning our next one to. If anyone wants to join us let us know! Entering the boat, so exciting! This boat seemed huge and there were people telling us that it was a small cruise ship!

When we first got on the boat we ate lunch right by the pool and it was so hot outside that we decided to go swimming after our food digested. The pool was filled with sea water which was a little surprising.

Going to dinner right after swimming at a restaurant that reminded me of the Brazilian restaurant. They come around with meat on a stick and cut you a slice.

On the boat they had a little Karaoke competition. They had a bunch of people sing and chose the top two who competed against a winning from another night to go to the finals for a chance to win $100,000. So we thought why not try right? Hermes sang great but he had some good competition and he didn't win. It was a fun night though.

Probably our favorite part of the whole trip was being able to play with the dolphins. Hermes got to actually swim with them but they wouldn't let me because I'm pregnant. I guess dolphins are strong enough to knock you 20 feet out of the water with their tails and I didn't want to risk it. So I just did the close encounter with the dolphins and loved every minute of it. Hermes kept the camera and there was a lady there who decided not to get in the water so she was able to get a bunch of good pictures of Hermes with the dolphins but I was in another area so there are no pictures of me. The close encounter was so much fun. There was a large group of us and they would take 4 people in the water (waist deep) at a time (2 per dolphin) and we would get to pet the dolphin, both back and belly. Did you know dolphins have belly buttons! Then we got to do a trick with the dolphin. I got to spin in a circle and then the dolphin did the same. Between each person that got in the water the trainers would have the dolphins do more tricks for the whole group. Hermes said swimming with the dolphins was unbelievable. He would dive under the water with the dolphin and the dolphin would make clicking noises to see where he was at all times. If Hermes swam left so would the dolphin, if he swam right the dolphin would follow and then if Hermes would jump out of the water so would the dolphin. We both loved this experience and are so glad we had the chance to go.

There was a bunch of birds that lived right by the dolphin place. One of the Dolphin trainers was helping everyone hold this bird. It must of really liked me because it decided to poop while I was holding it. Luckily it had good aim and I came out clean :)

The Beach at the Bahamas was beautiful! We weren't able to stay very long because we had to be back on the ship by 5 and had spend most of the morning playing with the dolphins but we enjoyed the warm sun and water for a little bit!

I've been working really hard to try and go through over 700 pictures from our trip to Florida and our cruise and finally got them all sorted out and picked the ones I liked. I was able to bring it down quite a bit but still have a bunch of pictures to post. Then I finally found some time and motivation to post them all last week and in the middle of loading all my pictures, blogger decided to freeze up. So as soon as I find the motivation again I will post pictures from our vacation and from Hermes graduation. As for now, know we are doing good. Hermes is so excited to be done with school for the time being and is still working at Wendy's. He's looking into getting his translator and interpretor certifications and looking for a job in that field until we are a little more out of debt and then it will be back to school. As for me, I am still teaching preschool and babysitting Chloe and Marlee 3-4 days a week. I am in my 4th month of my pregnancy and things are going great. We will soon be able to find out the sex of the baby and we can hardly wait! We have plenty of projects planned for this summer to keep us busy while we wait for this little one to join us. Things are going well for us and we are truly blessed.

For those of you that don't already know, Hermes and I are expecting a baby! Baby is due November 9, 2011. We are so excited! We went to the doctor today and the baby wiggled all over the place for us. These aren't the best pictures but its all we got so, Enjoy!!!

....yes I am finally updated my blog! But its not as exciting as you all would hope. I don't have internet at my house so its hard to get my pictures together when I go somewhere that has internet. We made it home safe from our summer adventure and are very happy to be home. Our plan was to come home and have Hermes defer the semester and work and I was going to do preschool and maybe an evening job if needed. Well we came back and looked for over a week and no jobs were to be found. Two days before school started we got Hermes back in school and registered for all the classes he needs. I got my preschool started and realized it wouldn't quite be enough income even with our grant money so about a month ago I picked up a little babysitting job. Three to four days a week two little girls come to my house and play. One is three and the other is four months. They are great little girls and I love it! We are keeping busy with school, work and going to the gym to workout. We are both wanting to lose a little bit a weight so we have been trying to eat healthier and workout each day. We are getting excited for Thanksgiving and Christmas!

Coming Home!

Our summer is winding down and we are headed home on Sunday. We are excited to get back to a more regular life. We both are in need of jobs but we know that something will come up. I have my preschool and toddler class in the mornings but its not going to provide enough for us to live off of yet. We are still excited to come home and unpack all our stuff. I'm sure we will throw a lot out. Its amazing how little you can live off of. The trip home should be fun, we are stopping in Columbus Ohio and staying at my cousin Joe and Lisa's house for a night then headed to Omaha to see Jason and his family. I'm super excited to see them and hang out for a while. Then on to Rexburg we go. We will be home next week and it will feel so good to be there. See you all soon!

Summer Summary...so far

I finally have a free night and a computer that works on the internet, so I'm going to post a bunch of pictures from our summer. For those that don't know we moved AGAIN...we are now professionals at moving. We moved to North Carolina due to our office in Virginia closing down. Things are going pretty well here. I have a job as the office assistant. There was a lot for me to do because the girl that worked here before me didn't do her job too well. So for the past couple weeks I've been cleaning up the office and trying to catch up with paperwork. I think I've finally caught up. Hermes is still working. He is so ready to be done and told me we are never doing this again. (YIPEE!) In the office we are in now he is getting more jobs but all the other techs here have multiple years of experience and one of them told Hermes he wasn't needed here and to just go home. Oh well....we are just living each day to the fullest and enjoying the summer as much as we can. We are going to reward ourselves at the end of the summer with a (free) cruise to the Bahamas! I'm so excited. So here is a summary of the summer... These first pictures are out of order but they somehow didn't get added and I didn't want to try to get them in the right spot. Whit and I at the National Zoo. The zoo wasn't very excited so we didn't take very many pictures. At Virginia Beach. Cali loved it! She dug lots of holes and loves water so its the perfect place for her :)

So we had this bright idea that we were all going to invest in flags and sell them. Well we went out one day and sold a few and after that they just sat in the apartments. So now we have a bunch of flags that I'm selling on e-bay.

One day we all decided steak sounded amazing, so we walked to the grocery store and bought these two HUGE steaks. The guys were kind enough to cut a little piece off and share with us.

Update..

Sorry I'm slow on the update. Just before we left California our computer stopped working and we haven't got it fixed since we moved so I've been having to use the apartment office computers which means I can't take much time to update my blog. So I will update everyone what happened in the last month. As you all know we moved to California to work for APEX. We got there and were all ready for a busy summer with lots of work and money....we waited and waited and neither of those came. Hermes was told he would be doing two installs a day and that sounds good to us. That was over $600 a week. Well we were lucky to be getting two or three installs a week which lead us to about $50 a week...not as nice sounding as $600 I know. So Hermes' manager knew he needed to figure something out to help us all make some more money. He made some phone calls and found out that APEX had no room for us anywhere else. Now what? Well he got in contact with some people he'd worked for before and found out that AMP (another smaller Alarm company) had an office that needed people out in Virginia. So we settled everything and left California and headed to Virginia. Man that was a long drive! We saw lots of different country and it was fun. We were tired and didn't make a lot of stops. We are now in Fairfax Virginia which is just about 30 minutes outside of DC. It is beautiful here but we miss California weather. Things aren't going too much better out here. The sales reps aren't doing as well as we were promised. So the tech team. Which consists of 4 guys decided they were going to sell flags. The purchased 100 flags at 1.60 each and are selling the for 20. This is going to make us more money that installing is :) Hermes and I went out and knocked doors for about and hour and a half and sold 3 flags which made us $60 which is more than we were making in a week in California. Haha Also another blessing is that I got a job. Its perfect....I am AMP's oa (office assistant) Basically I just put all the paperwork together and make sure its all correct and scheduling. When the sales reps get a sale they call me with the address and information and I get it to the right tech. Pretty simple and its nice that I can stay at home. We have been blessed this summer and we are enjoying our time.

Las Vegas

On our way down to California we decided to stay in Vegas for a night since it would #1 break up the trip a little bit and #2 neither of us had been there. It was tons of fun. We got there late Wednesday night and stay up for a while and walked the strip a little to see the lights. The next morning we got up and checked out of our hotel and went down to the end of the strip that we hadn't seen the night before. This included M&M world, Coca Cola and a fun other fun things. We then left Thursday afternoon so we could get to our next stop before too late. Here are a few pictures, (only like 1/4 of all the pictures we took) I won't explain every picture because most are pretty easy to figure out.

At Coca Cola World, you can buy these trays of 16 different cokes from around the world. There was India and Africa and Italy and anything else you can imagine. The following pictures are a few we caught after some of the nasty ones. Italy was the worse and Portugal as probably the best. It was fun to watch each other take the first sip and decide if it was going to be good or bad. Overall I think America has the best CocaCola.

La Quinta, California

Well we are here in California. We got moved to La Quinta which is about 2 hours away from L.A. Its a really nice place. It doesn't seem too huge. Right down the street we have a target, walmart, costco and almost any other store you can imagine. Its nice we live in a gated community that is very quiet but we are only minutes away from everything that we need. We have made some really good friends already and we are excited for the summer. We've been swimming everyday since we got here. Yesterday we didn't have a chance to go swimming till about 5 p.m. and it was still at least 80 degrees and felt good to get in the cold water.
Our Kitchen is really nice. Just the perfect size for the amount of stuff we brought. Its nice with a dishwasher. We love this apartment.

Our closet is HUGE! We couldn't believe how big it was. Mom says I need more clothes to fill it and I think she is right. Hermes better work hard! :)

Our bedroom is really nice. They brought us a nice bed and dressers. We've been sleeping on an air mattress for the last couple nights so it will be night to sleep in a real bed.

Our balcany is really nice. We love going out there in the early morning or late at night...most of the other time its too hot to enjoy it too much.

Dinning Room. It only bother me a little that the chairs don't match the table...don't ask why they didn't match them. Oh well its nice just to have a table and chairs. In the closet behind the table and chairs is our washer and dryer. So nice to finally have on in our apartment and our utilities are just one set price so we can run the washer and dryer and A/C as much as we want :)

Here is the Family Room. We have our couch set up like this because our friends let us borrow their projector since we have no t.v. so it shows up on the other wall. Its really cool, its like we have our own theater. These couches are so comfortable, you just sink in when you sit down.

The bathroom is huge! We love it.

Hermes doesn't do too well with screen doors...this happened because he ran right into it. Just after this he ran into the glass door twice...don't worry I think he's learned. :)

LA Here We Come!

That's right, we're going to California. Hermes decided he wanted to try out APEX for the summer so we got things cleared with my job and he took the summer off of school. We first got assigned to Alabama but just this last week we were reassigned to LA California. I'm pretty excited about it. We're not sure how the money thing will change from one location to another but we'll be only about 2-3 hours away from Hermes' mission area. We have been wanting to take a trip down there and visit everyone he taught, so this is perfect. We are already planning to go down to San Diego a couple weekends out of the summer. To me this seems more like its going to be an extended vaction but we're hoping for lots of work and that Hermes stays busy with jobs. What am I going to be doing? Well I'll keep busy too. I'm going to take all my scrapbooking things and try to get caught up on that. I am also starting a new hobby of sewing, and I want to work on a quilt for Hermes and I while we're there. Last of all I will be working on Preschool things, making copies, coloring new activities and ordering supplies for my Preschool. For those that don't know I'm starting my own preschool this fall. I've been very blessed in the process so fall. My mom, being the amazing women she is, got a house for us to rent that is big enough for us to live in and for me to run an amazing preschool in. I was originally planning on doing it out of my apartment and soon realized it would be way to little space. Thanks Mom for all you do. Also my boss has been very accepting of it all. She's very excited for me and has wished me the best but also let me know that if things don't work out she will take me back in a flash. So its good to know that I have somewhere to fall back on. Please put the word out that I am opening a Preschool because I need children. Thats about the only thing I'm missing. We love you all and are so greatful for the support you give us in all we do. We are excited for some changes in life!

This Christmas Hermes' Mom was here and also a few more Brazilian friends so we spent our Christmas Eve here at home with them. We had fun cooking, watching movies and being creative.

Christmas Day

Christmas Day for us started at 12:01 am. In Brazil everyone stays up till Midnight and right as the clock goes to 12:01 they are start shouting Feliz Natal! or Merry Christmas. Well seeing how I'm living with 2 Brazilians and we have a very good friend who is also Brazilian and his dad was here from Brazil it made more sense to celebrate the Brazilian way. So we all stayed up (almost all of us, I had to take a nap from 9-11:30) till midnight and started our Christmas at 12:01. Also in Brazil, the giving out of the presents is different. One person becomes Santa and grabs a present from under the tree and calls that person up. So presents are opened one at a time. Also a picture has to be taken with each present so I will pick just a few to show you how great our Christmas was.

So this is just one picture of everyone. We were all spoiled and got many more presents but thats way to many pictures to put on here. Hermes spoiled me with a Toaster Oven, LOTS of Victoria Secret lotions and perfumes and also a Silhouette. (A Silhouette is like a printer except it cuts pictures instead of printing them. Its like a die cut machine) I'm also missing the pictures of the present I got Hermes. I got him a electric keyboard which we are all enjoying. I will find the pictures and add them. We hope everyone else had a wonderful chirstmas!

Time to catch up...

Its been a while since I've had time to blog. One night when I did have time I got on to blog and my computer was going really slow and I got too frustrated to actually do anything. But a lot has happened since our last blog. Hermes started school and work. He's working at Melaleuca a couple times a month. Hopefully he will go part time soon but we'll take what we can get. I'm still working at the DayCare in Idaho Falls. I started teaching Preschool a month or so ago and I'm super busy working on that all the time, but I love it so much. My kids are learning so well that it makes me feel like I'm actually doing it right. :) Its a good feeling to see young children learn so quickly.
Also at the end of the summer I finally recieved my diploma. If you are current with my blog you would have seen that I "graduated" last December. Well yes, I walked last December but I still had an online class that I had to finish up in order to have all the credits I needed to recieve the diploma. So I finally finished it and got the credits transfered and recieved my diploma almost 8 months later.
Nothing else new has really happened. We are just grateful for all the things we have. We love having such good fiends and family that are always taking good care of us. Thanks everyone!

Our Summer

Hermes and I had a great summer but its almost over...we only have one week left. I start teaching again next Tuesday and Hermes starts school on the 10th so its all coming to an end. I will just do a short post on everything we did this summer. We celebrated Hermes' 24th birthday by going to a movie and ice cream and then having a BBQ at mom's house with my family (except Jason and his family). Then we got to take a nice vacation and went to Washington with some friends for a little over a week. When we got home we had just gotten back into everyday life when we got another vacation to Lagoon with the Family. Lagoon was a blast! Hermes was determined to not get on a single ride at the beginning of the day but by the end of the day he had gone on all the best rides. We went on the Bat, Jet Star 2, Colossus and even Wicked. It was a very fun day with the whole family. I don't have many pictures from Lagoon so I will just post the best ones from Washington.

We had a really fun summer and are sad to see it end. But we are ready to move on and get Hermes closer to finishing school!

My Everyday Life...

I just wanted to make a post to show everyone how my everyday life is. I work at a day care in Idaho Falls so each day is a new adventure. The kids are crazy but I love everyone of them. Next week I start teaching my very own preschool class which consists of over 20 kids. Can you imagine 20 children and 1 teacher? Lets just hope that all the kids aren't there on the same day so I can keep my sanity. Even though it gets crazy I love my job and I love who I work with. Exciting News!

This post is for all of you that aren't living close enough to hear our latest news. Over a year ago Hermes and I started working on paperwork and saving lots of money to send in all the stuff we need to apply for Hermes to have a Green Card or to become a Permanent Residency of the United States. You have to apply for this to be able to work or leave the country and this also has to take place before you can gain citizenship. So finally 1 year and $2000 later we received a notice that it was finally our turn to go to Boise and have an interview. This interview would determine if we are eligible for the Green Card or not. We got all the documents that we needed ready and headed to Boise. I had heard lots of stories about this interview and wasn't sure what to believe. I heard they split you up and asked you questions like "what color is his toothbrush" and other questions like that to see if your questions matched up. Well it wasn't quite like that. We arrived at 8:00 and at 8:30 we were called into the room with a man. Before we sat down we had to raise our hands to the square and promise to tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth. This was getting serious. So we sat down and he started going over all the papers we had previously sent in to make sure it was our signatures and what not. Then he asked Hermes what my birthday was. He answered correctly. Then I had to tell him Hermes' birthday. Easy as pie. Next he asked us a few questions about our life, like where we go to school, where we work. Things like that. He also asked us if we were married in front of a judge and we explained to him that we are LDS and got married in the LDS temple. He didn't say much to that and continued with more questions. He asked me if I have ever met his family and asked me if I knew his mother's name. Luckily I knew that one. Then he pulled out a paper that had a checklist sort of thing that he had to ask us about. He started down them asking them as quick as we answered. Then he stopped for a moment and said, "Besides being LDS, do you belong to any other groups, religions or cults?" Which made me laugh, did he think we were in a cult because we were LDS? After he finished the checklist he asked if we had any questions, which we didn't really so he went on to explain to us that the Green Card would be mailed to us within 2-3 months. We did it! We passed the interview! We are finally getting the Green Card after waiting for over a year, but we still have to wait 2-3 months. We were very excited, 2-3 months seems like such a short period of time for us. This man also went on to explain that in 2 years we have to renew the Green Card. No interview this time, thank goodness. All we have to do is send in proof that we live together still and they will send the new one back. Also three years from June 23, 2009, Hermes is allowed to apply for citizenship. Then it will all be over, until we start working on getting my citizenship to Brazil. Hopefully their government is a lot easier to work with.
Hermes and I just want to express our deepest gratitude to all our family and friends for helping make this possible. Without all your support and faith I don't know if we would have made it. Thank you so much for the love and support. We love you.

Our 1 Year Anniversary!

I know our Anniversary was almost a whole month ago but I haven't been home much to have time to post pictures so here they are finally....

Because it was also Easter on our Anniversary we decided to dye some eggs also. We had a lot of fun doing this and ended up with some cute eggs.

Here I am dying the egg in the traditional "stick it in a cup of dyed liquid for a while"...

...and here is Hermes trying a new idea. "Maybe if I put a little bit of each color in this plastic bag and then put the egg in it will come out looking really cool." Well it was pretty cool but not any different than placing it in each cup for a while.

For all of you who haven't heard, Hermes received his work permit and travel parole document last week. This means that he can legally work anywhere he wants and can travel outside the United States and be allowed back in. We are really excited for these two things and hope that we get the official Green Card soon. Now that Hermes will hopefully get a good job and can travel we are planning to take a trip to Brazil at the end of the summer. Hermes says he HAS to go so I'm sure he will do whatever he can to get us there.

For Valentine's Day we had a very relaxing and fun night out. First we went to a concert/show here in Rexburg. I was very lucky and actually got a picture with the lead singer...

Next we went to a nice restaurant and had the most delicious food. For the main course we had Chicken Enchiladas and a Green Salad.
We picked the right restaurant because they even had Hermes' favorite drink. We had Guarana in nice Valentine glasses.

For dessert we had the best cheesecake I've ever tasted. It was nice and creamy. Hermes had his with "fresh" blackberries and I ate mine just plain.

After dinner we were escorted to our Valentine's Suite...

...where we enjoyed a relaxing candle lite night.

Overall, our night was great and we had lots of fun just hanging out and relaxing at home. We hope everyone else had a good day as well.

Graduation!

I just wanted to post a few pictures from my graduation. If feels good to know that I am done (almost). I still have an online class through BYU that I have to finish but I don't have any more classes to attend. Pres. Uchdorf spoke at commencement and I had the best seat in the house. I was in the second row right in the middle. It was really cool.

It's Over...

I never thought this day would come when I started college...my days at BYU-Idaho are over and so is my time at the preschools there. I have made many new friends that have become my best friends. I want to thank them for all the fun times we've had and for being there when I needed someone to talk to. Thanks Brittany, Shila, Emily, Megan and Betty! (Also all of you that became so close that weren't supervisors) You guys made my two years here the most enjoyable. Thanks for everthing. These are a few pictures of those girls. (Thanks Brittany, I stole some from you :) )

New Apartment

About a month and a half ago, Hermes and I moved into a new apartment. Its subsidized housing and we are really excited about the lower rent. The move wasn't fun because mom was in Wisconsin and no other family was around so we had to do most of it ourselves. Thank goodness for awesome neighbors (our neighbors here are a lot better than at the last complex.) But we love the new apartment and it feels like home. These first pictures are of the process of moving.

A mais ou menos um mes e meio atras, eu e o Hermes mudamos para um novo apartamento. e subsidized e nos estamos muito animados pelo aluguel ser mais baixo. A mudanca nao foi muito divertida por que minha mae estava em Wisconsin e ninguem da familia estava por perto entao tivemos que famos a maioria da mudanca sozinhos. Agradecemos a Deus por vizinhos tao legais (nossos vizinhos aqui sao muito melhores que o do outro complex.) Mas nos amamos o novo apartamento e nos sentimos em casa. Estas sao as primeiras fotos do processo de mudanca.

The Office...for anyone that had seen our apartment previously...this is quite an improvement, I can actually sit on the couch.

O escritorio... aqueles que tinham visto nosso apartamento antes... isto e muito melhor, eu posso ate sentar no sofa agora.

The family room. Hermes found this sectional couch at the D.I. and he told me about it and it sounded pretty good. I didn't get to see it until it was in our new apartment so I didn't know much about it. Some of our neighbors were moving it in and kept saying how heavy it was, then one of them said "well its because it has a hide-a-bed in it." I had no idea!

A sala. Hermes encontrou este sofa no D.I. e ele me falou a respeito e me pareceu ser um bom negocio. Eu nao pude ve-lo ate o dia que nos mudamos pro apartamento novo entao eu nao sabia muito a respeito de como era. Alguns de nossos vizinhos aqui estavam mudando tambem e estavam sempre reclamando que estava muito pesado, ai um deles disse "bem, e por que isso e um sofa cama." Eu nao tinha idea!

Just outside our door we have a small storage room which is really nice. Its big enough for all our holiday decorations and my preschool things.

Bem na frente da porta do apartamento tem um lugar pra guardar as coisas que nao precisamos. E grande e sufuciente para todas as coisas que temos como decoracoes e minhas coisas da pre-escola.

This apartment has lots more storage room than the last one. This is a really large closet by our bathroom. I didn't take a picture of the bathroom for two reasons...one because its not that exciting and the towels and rugs were in the wash.

Este apartamento tem muito mais lugar pra guarda as coisas do que o outro. Este armario e bem grande e perto do banheiro. Eu nao tirei foto do banheiro por duas razoes...uma por que nao e tao legal e as toalhas e tapetes estavam lavando.

Sorry we haven't been posting much. Like most of you, we are very busy with school and work. But I thought I would get on here and give you all an update of the most recent happenings in our lives. Hermes and I are both going to school full time. I am working at a restaurant called Puerto Vallarta. Its a Mexican restaurant behind Dominos here in Rexburg. I love working there! Hermes is still working for the school. He wants to work somewhere else but until his Green Card comes he is stuck there. Last month we signed up for Subsidized housing here in Rexburg and thought that would be nice for us while we are still in school. They told us the wait would be until about Feburary and we decided that wasn't too bad. Well last week I recieved a phone call letting me know that there was an opening and we were next on the list. So we now are packing and getting ready to move this week into a new apartment. We are very excited about the apartment but not about the whole moving process. But hopefully it will all go smoothly and we can keep caught up on our homework in the meantime. Once we are all moved in and settled I will take pictures and post them so you can all see our new apartment.

Desculpa de nao estarmos colocando muitas coisas aqui. Como muito de voces, nos estamos muito ocupados com a escola e trabalho. Mas pensei em colocar aqui algumas das coisas mais recentes que tem acontecido em nossas vidas. Eu e o Hermes estamos indo para a escola o dia todo. Eu estou trabalhando em um restaurante chamado Puerto VAllarta. E um restaurante Mexicano atras do Domino's aqui em Rexburg. Eu amo trabalhar la! Hermes ainda trabalha na escola. Ele quer trabalhar em outro lugar mais ate o Green Card dele chegar ele tera de ficar la. O mes passado nos entramos na lista para apartamentos subsidized aqui em Rexburg e pensamos que seria bom para nos enquantos estivermos na escola. Eles nos disseram que teriamos que esperar ate por volta de Fevereiro e decidimos que nao seria ruim. Bem, semana passada recebi uma ligacao me deixando saber que tinha uma vaga e eramos os proximos na lista. Entao agora nos estamos empacotando tudo e quase prontos para mudar esta semana para o apartamento novo. Estamos muito animados a respeito do novo apartamento mais nao tanto a respeito do processo da mudanca. Mais esperamos que tudo de certo e que possamos ficar em dia com as licoes de casa. Assim que mudarmos e tivermos tudo arrumadinho eu colocarei ftos para que voces todos possam ver nosso novo apartamento.

Natalia borrowed a car from a friend and just our luck this car had no AC. And of course we were going to Texas...without AC. This picture is of Hermes with the wind in his face and hair.

During the reception, there was a little program where they annouced everyone's name and had a little dance. This is Hermes as the Best Man ready to escort in the Maid of Honor.

Durante a recepcao, tinha um programa onde eles anuciavam o nome de todos e tinha uma danca e tudo. Este e o Hermes como o Padrinho pronto para levar a Dama de Honra.

On Saturday Natalia's old mission companion came to hang out with her so Hermes and I had the day free. A few of our friends (that we had just met) were going to Six Flags and invited us.

No Sabado uma velha companheira de Natalia veio passar o dia com ela entao eu e Hermes tivemos um dia livre. Alguns de nossos amigos (que tinhamos acabado de conhecer) estavam indo para o Six Flags e nos convidaram.

Hermes is not too fond of the really big roller coaster rides so he sat out on this ride. I actually didn't end up going on the ride either because the line was so long and I didn't want Hermes to wait so long.

Hermes nao gosta de ir nao grandes montanha russa entao ele ficou de fora dessa. Eu na verdade acabei nem indo por que a fila estava muito grande e eu nao queria deixar o Hermes esperando por tanto tempo.

So we decided to go on a 3D ride instead. It was really fun. We sat down in the seats and had to strap ourselves in. The seats moved and at one time Hermes said he had to look down because it felt so real.

Entao decidimos ir a um filme 3D. Foi bem legal. Nos sentamos e tivemos que colocar um sinto de seguranca. Os assentos moviam e uma hora o Hermes disse que teve que tirar os oculos um pouco por que parecia muito real.

When it was almost time to leave we saw the carousel and thought it would be fun. It was the shortest carousel ride ever.

Quando era quase a hora de ir embora nos vimos o carrossel e eu pensei que seria bem legal. Foi o carrossel mais curto qeu ja vi.

All day long we saw these fun characters and we would run over to them to take a picture and as soon as it was our turn they would go inside. So this is the only picture we got. We were pretty sad...
Overall our trip to Texas was pretty good.
For those of you that didn't hear about our trip, it included: driving through a flood, changing a flat into a very small flat spare tire at 3 am, waiting for 2 hours to get the tire fixed, finding a very large peice of metal in the tire, running out of gas because the gas needle was not working, getting pulled over, and having multiple engine problems. We had a mechanic come look at the engine and it ended up being over 1000 dollars to fix the car. So we left the car in Texas to sell and rented a car to come home. But we all made it home safe and we were glad we went.

O dia todo nos vimos esses carinhas e nos corriamos para tirar foto com eles mais quando chegavamos la eles ja saiam fora. Entao esta e a unica foto que temos. Nos ficamos meio tristes...
Mais em um todo a viagem pro Texas foi muito legal.
Para aqueles que nao ouviram a respeito de nossa viagem, teve: digimos por uma rua alagada, trocamos o pneu por um pneizinho de step as 3 da manha, esperamos por duas horas para concertar o pneu, encontramos um enorme pedaco de metal no pneu, ficamos sem gasolina por que o sinal de gas nao estava funcionando, fomos parados pela policia e tivemos muitos problemas com o motor. Um mecanico olhou o motor e ficou mais de 1000 dolares para concertar o carro. Entao deixamos o carro la em Texas para vender e alugamos um carro para ver embora pra casa. Mais todos chegamos em casa sas e salvos e somos grato que fomos.

Rafting

Hermes and I went rafting today down the Snake River and we had a blast! We didn't take our camera with us in fear of it getting wet. But luckily while going on the biggest rapid "The Big Kahuna" some one is there taking pictures for us. The pictures are then posted online for us to purchase. Well I just looked at the pictures and started crying I was laughing so hard. So I'm going to post the link here so you can all go check them out as well. (Hermes and I are in the back of the raft.)

Exciting News!!

Hello everyone,
We just got a new camera so I have pictures to posts. I just need to figure out how to get them onto the computer that actually has working internet. So once I figure that out I will post pictures of Hermes' birthday.
The reason for this post is a very good reason. I just wanted to let everyone know our most reason exciting news and I figured this was a good way to let everyone know. Yesterday, Hermes went to go play a few songs for this guy in his studio and came home to tell me he got a Record Deal. We are going on Saturday to learn more details, but we are super excited and can't wait for his CD to come out so you can all hear how amazing he is!!

Nos acabamos de comprar uma camera nova entao eu terei muitas fotos para colocar aqui. Eu so preciso aprender como colocar as fotos em um computador que tenha internet primeiro entao assi qeu conseguir eu colocarei as fotos do aniversario do Hermes.
A razao desta coluna e uma razao muito boa. Eu so queria compartinlhar com todos nossa mais nova e animada noticia. Ontem Hermes foi tocar algumas musicas pra um cara no estudio dele e veio pra casa e me disse que tinhamos um contrato com uma gravadora. Nos vamos la no sabado para aprendermos mais sobre todo o processo, mais nos estamos muito animados e nao podemos esperar para o cd dele ficar pronto assim voces podem ouvir e ver o quao maravilhoso ele e!!

A while back I tried to post some videos of Hermes' new songs. I couldn't get it to work and gave up. So I thought of a different way to find the videos. Instead of posting them on here, I am just going to give you the links (well the way to get there....haha)

Boise!!! (Our new love)

Hermes and I have been working on a bunch of paper work and doctor visits in the last little while in order to get Hermes' permanent residency and green card done. We were getting close to what we thought was the end of it all and called the place to find out where to send all this paper work to. At this time they informed us we needed to go to Boise and get an interview. So we made an interview as fast as we can and headed to Boise. Once we arrived to Boise and to the interview, we started talking to this lady at the counter and she told us that we are suppose to recieve a letter asking us to come to the interview and that we actually didn't need the interview just yet. But this trip was not just a waste of time and money. The kind lady at the counter helped us so much by telling us more forms and things we needed before we could send the papers in so that they wouldn't be rejected. It was good.

Hermes e eu temos trabalhado em uma papelada e visitas ao medico nos ultimos dias para podermos pegar a residencia do Hermes e o green card prontos. Nos estavamos perto de terminar tudo e ligamos para um lugar pra saber se precisamvamos de algo mais e pra onde mandar tudo. Eles nos informarram que precisavamos ir para Boise e passar por uma entrevista. Entao marcamos uma entrevista e fomos para Boise o mais rapido que pudemos. Quando chegamos la comecamos a conversar com uma moca la, e ela nos disse que deveriamos recebr uma carta marcando a entrevista e que nao precisavamos de uma entrevista agora. Mais esta viagem nao foi so perda de tempo e dinheiro. A amavel moca nos ajudou tanto nos falou de tudo o que necessitavamos antes de mandar os papeis para que nao fosse rejeitado. Foi muito bom.

Since I had already cleared everything with my teachers by letting them know I had to go to Boise, we decided to stay in Boise for the day and have some fun. We first went to the Zoo, yippee! Once again it was our lucky day because Thursday's are Family Days and we got in for $4 instead on $6.25!

Visto que eu ja tinha avisado meus professores de que eu tinha que ir pra Boise, nos decidimos ficar e passar o dia em Boise e nos divertimos um pouco. Primeiro nos fomos ao zoologico, yippee!
Mais uma vez era nosso dia dia de sorte por que Quitas sao dias das familias e nos pagamos $4 dollares ao inves de $6.25!

One of our favorite exhibits was the Snow Leopard. When we first arrived it was just sitting up on a ledge being pretty boring. Hermes started making noises at it and getting its attention. Then Hermes started kinda jumping around and the Leopard stood up and made this huge jump from the top ledge onto the wall and down on the ground. Now the Leopard was making noises at us and running around (while Hermes was still jumping around to get his attention). This went on for at least 10 minutes, it was really fun.

Um das nossas exibcoes favoritas foi o Leopardo da Neve. Quando chegamos la ele estava sentado perto da casa dele, tava bem chato. Hermes comecou a fazer barulhos e ganhou a atencao da fera. Entao Hermes comecou a pular de um lado pro outro eo Leopardo levantou e deu um pulo gigante de la de cima da casa dele na parede e dai no chao. Agora o Leopardo estava fazendo barulho para nos e andando de um lado pro outro (enquanto Hermes estava pulando de um lado pro outro e fazendo barulho para ganhar a atencao da fera). Isso aconteceu por mais ou menos uns 10 mins, foi bem legal.
It was a great day to be at the Zoo because all the animals were active and showing off. The vulture here was spreading his wings and giving us a show. It was so fun to see.

Foi um otimo dia ara estar no Zoologico por que todos os animais estavam bem ativos e se mostrando. O abutre aqui estava abrindo as asas e nos dando um show. Foi muito legal de ver.

The Penquins. Hermes and I tried to take pictures down by the actual penguins but because we only had disposable cameras, those pictures didn't turn out.

Once again, I am a turtle...its not as fun as it looks.

Uma vez mais, eu sou uma tartaruga...nao e tao legal como parece.

Hermes thought it would be funny to sit on me while I was a turtle. This required me to sit in this very uncomfortable turtle shell for a long time until he found someone to take the picture.

Hermes achou legal se sentar em mim enquanto eu era uma tartaruga. Isto requiriu que eu ficasse neste inconfortavel casco de tartaruga ate que ele encontrasse alguem pra tirar a foto.

This was our last stop at the Zoo...the tigers. The tiger wasn't showing off but he was right next to the glass so it was fun to see how big they actually are.

Our next stop...the riverboat things...(I don't know what they are really called)

Este foi nossa ultima parada no Zoologico...os tigres. O tigre nao estava se mostrando mais ele estava bem perto do vidro entao isso foi bem legal de ver o quao grande eles realmente sao..

Here we go....I asked the guy who helped us get the boat to take this picture and he looked at me and said "no" and then took the camera...didn't make much sense to me.

LA vamos nos....Eu pedi pro cara que nos ajudou a entrar no pedalinho pra tirar esta foto e ele olhou pra mim e falou "nao" e dai ele pegou a camera e tirou a foto.. nao fez nenhum sentido pra mim.

In the middle of our trip I saw this bridge and told Hermes to let me off at the bank so I could go on the bridge and take a picture.

No meio do passeio eu vi uma ponte e falei pro Hermes me deixar sair do pedalinho na beira da lagoa assim eu poderia subir na ponte e tirar uma foto dele.

Ducks and Geese were everywhere and always swimming in front of us so we kept trying to catch them between our boat, but they swam faster than us so this is as close as we got.

Patos e gansos estavam em todos os lugares e sempre nadando na nossa frente entao nos estavamos sempre tentando pegar um no meio do pedaliho, mais eles nadavam mais rapido do que nos. este foi o mais perto que chegamos.

Our last stop of the trip was lunch, Hermes took me to TGI Friday's because I've never been there before...it was great!

Nossa ultima parada nessa viagem foi para o lanche, Hermes me levou no TGI Friday's eu nunca tinha comido la antes... foi muito bom!

Our First Apartment!

I know I'm a little late on posting this. Yes, we have been living here for almost 2 months now but I thought I put these pictures up for Jason and Amy who probably will never get to see it in person. Jason did help move everything in and saw before anything was in place. Thanks Jason and everyone else that helped us move! We might be doing it again soon... :D

Eu sei que estou um pouco atrasada em colocar isto. Sim, nos temos morado aqui por quase 2 meses mais eu pensei que deveria colocar as fotos aqui para Jason e Amy que provavelmente nao o verao pessoalmente. Jason ajudou-nos a mudar e viu antes de tudo estar arrumado. Obrigado Jason e todos que nos ajudaram a mudar! Nos vamos estar mudando novamente logo, logo... :D

Our very small kitchen. We do have a kitchen table now which is exciting! Yippee!

Here is part of the living room. I had been unpacking all day long and needed a break. If you look closely you can see the word Da Silva on the wall above me. Well we painted them black now so they stand out a little more. It looks really cute actually.

Esta e uma parte da sala. Eu tinha ficadao o dia todo desempacotando e precisava de um tempo. See voce olhar de perto voce pode ver o nome Da Silva na parede acima de mim. Nos pintamos as letras de preto pra que aparecam mais na parede. E bem bonito na verdade.

This is our little comfy bedroom. Not room for much, we even had to put the T.V. in the closet so we could fit the bed. I think Hermes looks ready for a nap.

Este e o nosso pequeno e comfortavel quarto. Sem espaco pra muita coisa, nos ate tivemso que colocar a T.V dentro do guarda roupa pra que coubesse a cama. Acho que o Hermes esta pronto pra tirar um cochilo.

This picture was never updated. This is our office/clothing closet/preschool supply room. Our spare bedroom is great and it holds a lot of stuff. Thank goodness for two bedroom apartments!

This isn't a very exciting post but there will be more to come. And more updates on the trailer issue. For those of you who don't know, Hermes and I are looking to buy a trailor and will hopefully be moving during our school break. We will let you know what happens. Love you all!

Our Honeymoon!

Yes, our car was decorated and we loved it! I had fun popping all the balloons. We didn't get the "Just Married" washed off until we got home, so therefore we received plenty of silly glances and stares. But it was all worth it. The first night of our honeymoon we stayed at the Americinn Hotel in a beautiful theme room. The theme was Mayan:

Sim, nosso carro estava decorado e nos amamos! Eu me diverti estourando os baloes. Nos nao tiramos o "Recem Casados" ate que chegamos em casa, entao nos recebemos muitos olhares. Mais isso valeu a pena. A primeira noite de nossa lua de mel, nos ficamos em um Hotel chamado Americinn Hotel em um quarto muito lindo e decorado. O tema era MAYA:

For the rest of our honeymoon, Hermes and I stayed at Mont's cabin in Island Park and visited West Yellowstone National Park.

O resto da lua de mel, Hermes e eu ficamos na cabana do Mont em Iland Park e visitamos West Yellowstone National Park.

We went to the Bear and Wolve Museum and I saw this awesome teddy bear, Hermes wouldn't let me buy it so we took pictures instead.

Fomos a um museu de ursos e lobos e eu vi esse urso gigante, Hermes nao queria me deixar compra-lo entao so tirei uma foto perto dele.

In April West Yellowstone still had 6 feet of snow. It was melting though and we did get stuck in the mud. Lucky us.

Em Abril West Yellowstone ainda tinha 6 pes de neve. Mais estava derretendo e nos ficamos presos na lama. Sortudos.

The Beginning..../O Comeco....

Hermes and I met at BYU-Idaho. We were both taking a Child Development class, crazy I know. We went on a couple dates and decided we liked each other and started dating in August of 2007. On December 31, 2007 Hermes proposed and we were married on April 12, 2008.

Hermes e eu nos conhecemos na BYU-Idaho. Nos dois estavamos tomando a classe de Desenvolvimento da Crianca, louco eu sei.
Nos fomos em uns dois encontros e decidimos que gostavamos um do outro e comecamos a namorar em Agosto de 2007. No dia 31 de Dezembro, 2007 Hermes me pediu em casamento e nos casamos no dia 12 de Abril, 2008
